The critical difference lies in filtration efficiency at specific particle sizes, determining their suitability for different electronics production zones.

For standard electronics assembly areas, HEPA Air Filters (typically graded H13 or H14) are the standard choice. They are designed to capture 99.99% of particles at a size of 0.3 microns (μm).

However, highly sensitive semiconductor environments, such as Wafer Fabs and Lithography zones, require significantly higher purity. These areas demand ULPA Filters (graded U15-U17). ULPA filters are engineered to capture much finer particles—down to 0.12μm—with an extreme efficiency of up to 99.999995%.
