This is the most robust and widely utilized protocol in industrial cleanroom environments.
How it works: Each DSX Smart FFU is equipped with a high-performance RS485 communication port. The FFUs are daisy-chained together in a network loop.
The Advantage: Modbus RTU is universally recognized by almost every PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) and HMI (Human-Machine Interface) screen on the market (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, Mitsubishi).
Scalability: A single DSX gateway can stably manage a vast network of up to 255 FFUs per loop, enabling rapid deployment for mid-to-large-scale semiconductor or battery facilities.
For mega-facilities (like Wafer Fabs or Lithium-Ion Dry Rooms) that need to monitor 10,000+ FFUs, the speed of traditional serial cables limits performance.
How it works: DSX provides advanced Master Gateways that convert the localized RS485 signals into Modbus TCP/IP. This allows the entire FFU network to connect directly to the facility’s Ethernet/LAN infrastructure.
The Advantage: Lightning-fast data transmission. Facility managers can monitor the exact RPM, power consumption, and error codes of any specific FFU in real-time from a centralized SCADA system or a remote corporate server.
